Throughout my designs I have chosen to add flowers as applique and embellished on my garments, these were taken as a response from my pictures taken in Rome. If I was to hand cut these it would not only take a long time to cut out hundreds of them but also the edges would fray and become very tatty, therefore making the over all look not the high end theme I wanted. I chose to laser cut these because it was the quickest method and it also finished all the edges on the flowers I had cut.

Screen Printed Grey Organza with Metallic Print

I had printed the fabric first before the laser cutting, it would then be laid on the laser bed and on the computer measured out the size of the laser cut image.

Once it was cut I then separated the flowers from the excess. I completed this on orgnza, habotai, chiffon and textured chiffon.

Laser Cut Crinkled Chiffon

These flowers will either be fused on a base fabric and embroidered or they will be layered up and stitched with embellishment of rhinestones, pearls and sequins.
