Using silk and buttons I created this sample in reflection of my flower texture from the Rome trip. I used a technique called shibori a Japanese technique which uses heat to manipulate the fabric. From these I draped this on the mannequin to experiment with different layouts.

I only used a small section so I can piece together the fragments of the textiles as I feel this reflects my theme of decay well. I liked the idea of an asymmetric layout that goes from the waistline to the bust. Also going from the bust towards the hipline.

Using the silhouette of a halter top I thought about focusing all the detail to one side of the body. The next one focuses on ground around the body along the side.

I also experimented with separating the two different tones away from each other in order to create a more fragmented layout which could be repeated across the outfit.
