Furthering my research and development in my final collection I wanted to experiment and develop adding the Colosseum and Trivi Fountain into my final collection.

From this image I took during my trip to Rome in the Summer of 2018 I found the most inspiring part of this was the shape and the windows that were going around the architecture.
Because this is a 3D shape I wanted to make sure that was translated within my design therefore I felt this made into a larger scale it can be wrapped around the body to imitate the shape.
I also really liked the windows that all have a different angle and shading in the windows, I would want to develop this in my textiles buy either using print or applique.
Using the photocopy of the Colosseum sketch previously drawn I draped this on the stand to see how to drape it on the body. I feel it fits best on the bodice with the shaping of the edges going around the back.

Moving onto creating a feature print I have chose this image of the Trivi Fountain because of the romantic feel and fantasy of it, I thought it would work well as a featured print because of the detail within the image and the depth.

Taking inspiration from these outfits I feel having something with a particular placement adds a expensive look to the garment, as the placement is really important to where it is placed on the garment.
I really like the placement of the Topshop print of having it on the hem as the landscape appears to be travelling up the dress and blends in.

I then used the original image to do a rough and textured sketch of the image highlighting key shadows and details. I feel this could then be exposed onto a large screen as the print is so intricate, which can then be developed into a screen print, foil print or even an embroidery.
